Avg Anti-virus Problem. Help?

Submitted by admin on November 15, 2009 – 6:49 am3 Comments

Hi!
My AVG Anti-Virus isn’t updating properly, and it says that my computer is unprotected?!
The message that I get is:
“Update Failed. Invalid Update Control CTF File.”
Can anyone help me with some advice on how I might go about fixing this problem?
Thanks in advance!

First make sure your time and date, and the timezone are correctly set. This can disrupt updates. If this is correct, or fixing it does not cure the problem, simply uninstall it and then download it again from http://free.avg.com.

Uninstall avg and get something else. Kaspersky and Windows Liveone care are good.

You can uninstall it and reinstall it but the newest version is stacked full of problems. I dumped avg all together and went with avast also I use zonealarm as a firewall and the best part is it’s all free.
