Why Is Mcafee Causing More Problems To My Computer?

Submitted by admin on October 24, 2009 – 6:38 am2 Comments

I just installed McAfee onto my computer a few months ago thru Comcast because Comcast customers can download McAfee for free. Since I downloaded McAfee, my computer runs super slow, I get pop up ads literally every minute or two when I’m online, and there are constantly viruses or Trojans found on my computer on a daily basis. And this all started AFTER I installed McAfee onto my computer. I didn’t have all these problems before I installed it. And I can not figure out how to uninstall it since I downloaded it the Comcast. When I just try and delete it from my hard drive it won’t let me. All these problems just seems to be getting worse also.
How do I fix this problem?
How can I get this McAfee off of my computer?
How can I get rid of these Trojans that keep popping up that McAfee supposedly “Quarantined?”
What else can I dod to fix this mess before it gets even worse?

1: If you have the most recent version of McAfee, then that could be part of the problem, because thet still have alot of kinks to work out in that version.
#2: If you have installed Internet Explorer 8 to your computer the as ons do not work on that version of IE. That is why you are getting all of those pop ups on your screen. Stick with IE 7 even though it’s not as neat as IE 8 as in design.
#3: In order to get the McAffee of of your computer you have to un install it, to do this go to your control panel and click on add/remove programs, look for the McAffee folder and then double click on it, it will give you the option to delete/uninstall the program, click on it and wait, this can take some time.
#4: When you have McAffee uninstalled then you should no longer have any problems with the pop ups apperai9ng all of the time.
#5: Download n older version of McAffee, and see if that works. If it dosen’t than download AVG for free and that should solve your problems!
Hope that this has helped you!
