Problem With Light-sensitive Eyes In A Brightly Lit Open-plan Office?
I have never had eye problems till recently. My eyes have become very sensitive to light, I saw an optomerist yesterday and she said my eyes are very dry and she gave me eye drops which I’m supposed to use for a month. Problem is I work in an open-plan office which is brightly lit and I can’t switch the lights off because the other people will complain. I’m seriously suffering and I cannot get anything done. I’m a Computer Programmer and the computer screen makes it even worse, I’ve got it now on its dimmest but the office lights are still getting to me. I really don’t know what to do. Sunglasses would help but I don’t want to wear them ALL DAY at the office! Is there maybe another way?

Get a pair of glasses with an Anti Reflective Coating, and that will greatly help with reducing the glare you see on your computer screen and your eyes won’t strain as much. You should also look away from the computer screen every 20 minutes to give your eyes a break. As far as the lights go, you can ask to have a light tint put on your lenses. A 10% rose tint on the lenses usually helps people who have problems with florescent lights and things like that.
